Call For Entries Ski&Golf World Championship 

Wednesday, 5 May - Saturday, 8 May 2027

General 

Eligible to participate

Eligible to participate are amateurs who are members of a recognized golf club affiliated with the Austrian Golf Association (ÖGV) or a foreign national golf association and who have a maximum World Handicap Index (WHI) of 18.0, as well as Teaching and Playing Professionals.
Participants should be capable of completing a giant slalom course safely.
 

Changes to and during the event; Force Majeure 

The participant acknowledges and agrees that the organizer, Zell am See-Kaprun Tourismus GmbH, may at its sole discretion (whether for safety, legal or other reasons), at any time and with or without prior notice, modify, postpone or cancel the ski race (distance, date/time* or other aspects of the race course) or the golf course if the organizer considers the conditions for the event to be unsafe or otherwise unsuitable.
Minor or short-notice adjustments that do not make participation in the event as a whole impossible shall not constitute material contractual changes and shall not entitle participants to withdraw from or terminate their participation.

*If the ski race cannot take place on Thursday or Friday due to weather conditions, skiing will be supplemented by an additional 18-hole round of golf. The final decision will be made by the Ski Club and the organizer on the Monday of the event week.

**Pro rankings are not included in the age categories. Participation as a pro must be indicated when registering! 

Team rankings 

A team consists of a maximum of four participants. On each competition day, the three best individual results of a team count towards the team ranking. Therefore, a minimum of three participants is required per team.

Race time and conversion

• The giant slalom consists of one run.
• The actual race time achieved in the giant slalom is converted into strokes for the overall ranking using a factor of 3 throughout.
• The maximum time is determined based on the fastest valid race time and is set at 170% of the fastest valid time. The maximum time is therefore 70% above the fastest valid race time.
• Example: If the fastest valid race time is 40.00 seconds, the maximum time is 68.00 seconds.
• Participants with a valid race time up to the calculated maximum time will be ranked using their actual race time.
• Race times exceeding the calculated maximum time will be capped at the maximum time.
• In the event of a Did Not Finish (DNF) or gate error, the calculated maximum time will be used for the ranking.
• In the event of a Did Not Start (DNS), the calculated maximum time will also be used for the ranking.
• The respective ranking time is then multiplied by a factor of 3 to determine the number of strokes counting towards the overall ranking.
• The calculated number of strokes is rounded to the nearest whole number. Decimal values up to and including 0.49 are rounded down; decimal values of 0.50 or higher are rounded up.

Starting order 

• Group 1:
  The top 5 women in the 2026 Women’s Overall Ranking and the top 25 men in the 2026 Men’s Overall Ranking of the Ski&Golf World Championship.*
• Group 2:
  Remaining women and Masters (start order according to WHI)
• Group 3:
  Remaining men (start order according to WHI)

*The start numbers of the participants in Group 1 will be drawn on stage during the Opening Ceremony.
Group 1 comprises a maximum of 30 starting places. The allocation of these places between women and men is based proportionally on the respective participation rates from the previous year. Based on the participant distribution in 2026, 5 places are allocated to women and 25 places to men for the 2027 Ski&Golf World Championship.
The respective highest-ranked participants in the 2026 overall rankings will be considered. If a qualified participant does not take part, their place will not be reallocated to the next-ranked participant.

Course inspection

• 9 - 9.30am (not at racing speed)
• Please follow the instructions of Skiclub Kaprun regarding whether inspection is permitted inside or outside the race course. These instructions will be communicated on site depending on weather and course conditions.

Ski race 

• Helmets are mandatory during the ski race.
• If a competitor misses a gate, the run will be classified as DNF and the maximum time calculated in accordance with the “Race Time and Conversion” section will be used for the ranking. After missing a gate, the competitor must not continue through any further gates of the race course.
• The finish line must be crossed either on both skis, on one ski, or, in the event of a fall immediately before the finish, with both feet. In this case, the recorded time counts if the timing system is triggered by any part of the competitor’s body or equipment.
• If a competitor is obstructed during their run by a course official, they must immediately leave the course, report to the next gate judge without delay and describe the obstruction in detail. The competitor must then ski to the finish along the side of the course without triggering the timing system. Ski Race Management will decide whether a re-run will be granted.

Official golf rules

Play will be conducted in accordance with the Official Rules of Golf issued by R&A Rules Limited, the handicap and competition regulations of the Austrian Golf Association (ÖGV), the current ÖGV Competition Regulations for Club Tournaments (Hard Card 2027), and the current Local Rules of Golfclub Zell am See-Kaprun-Saalbach as posted at the venue.

Playoff

In the event of a tie for first place in the tournament rankings (age categories), the winner will be determined by a sudden-death, hole-by-hole play-off.
If more than two players participate in a play-off, all players eliminated from the play-off will be ranked according to the following countback procedure once the winner has been determined:
In the event of equal scores, the better scores over 36, 18 and 9 holes will determine the ranking according to the handicap stroke index distribution (1, 18, 3, 16, 5, 14, 7, 12, 9). If players remain tied, the six holes with stroke indices 1, 18, 3, 16, 5 and 14 will be used, followed by holes with stroke indices 1, 18 and 3, and finally the most difficult hole.
